It was a cold and foggy morning last Saturday 10/19/19 at our Taylorsville Lake divisional tournament that turned out being a perfect day.
18 boats came out to compete at the second Taylorsville Lake divisional tournament of the season. A few new faces as we like to see each week throughout the trail. This tournament also saw another KCT record go down…
Andrew Beam of team Beam/Beam bagged what is not only his personal best crappie to date but also the new Kentucky Crappie Trail big fish record of 2.447lbs! This took down the “old” record set last month also at Taylorsville Lake of just over 2 pounds.
As for the tournament, a congratulations goes out to team Estridge/Vest with their 7.429lb bag and their first win of the season.
Second place ended up being a tie in total weight between team Beam/Beam and team Franke/Matheny with 6.702lbs. Per KCT rules we go to the big fish from there to break the tie and of course the monster 2.447lb crappie beat out Franke/Matheny’s big fish of 1.014lbs. So congrats to father and son team Beam/Beam on second place and a respectful third to Franke/Matheny who are one tough team to beat!
The next Taylorsville Lake divisional tournament will be on November 23rd. See you all on the water!
