In what was a beautiful Saturday to fish for crappie in the bluegrass, the Kentucky Crappie Trail saw 31 boats come out for some tournament fishing.

Director David Salisbury got 11 boats to the Alfrey boat ramp to kick off the Eastern Kentucky/Cave Run Divisional season. Denver Crouch and Doug McCarty took home first place with 5.27lbs and big fish of the tournament at 1.06lbs. Second place went to Terry Mann and daughter Traci Mann-Ulery with 5.01lbs and third place went to Mark and Julie Spellings with 4.84lbs.

Over in Taylorsville at the Possum Ridge boat ramp, director Tyler Bloyd got the Taylorsville Lake divisional started after a great fist season with lots of boats. This time, 20 boats came out and all had a solid day at the scale, except me of course!

First place went to Michael Hughes/Davis with 6.007lbs and a monster big fish of the tournament at 2.039lbs. It was the biggest crappie caught on the KCT in its two year existence. Congrats guys on a heck of a catch.

Second place went to Jonathan McKinney/Tyson with 5.258lbs and third place to Heath Martin and Matt Estridge with 5.169lbs.
